Course Description

<p>This course delivers the Core skills required for Signal Maintenance Testing and its associated competence. The course then goes on to cover the knowledge and skill required to perform Aspect testing, Points testing, cable function testing, Diversion of circuit activities as defined by the Signal Maintenance testing Handbook.<br /> <br /> For any SMTH Initial training taking place from the 24th April 2023, all candidates will be required to pass a the Pre-SMTH Initial Training Knowledge Test before attending the full course. The knowledge test can be accessed on the Network Rail eLearning platform.</p>

Prerequisite Name:

Ensure effective progression of work and use of resources during signalling testing, maintenance or installation activities. Implement and monitor safe working systems for signal engineering maintenance and renewal activities. Take and relinquish responsibility for Signalling equipment. Undertake corrective and preventative maintenance of Electrical Signals including AWS and TPWS. Undertake corrective and preventative maintenance of Signalling Cables. Undertake corrective and preventative maintenance of Signalling Power Supplies. CCS Install, Setup and Maintain Point Equipment Work safely on Signalling Power Supplies
